The next feat of Heracles was journey to the land of Amazons to obtain the girdle of Hippolyte. This simple girdle was given to Hippolyte by Ares, god of storms and tempests, and she was wearing it as a symbol of the authority in front of the Amazons. The daughter of the Lord wanted to have such girdle. Heracles and a team went to take it. They were lucky so they successfully reached the capital of the militant women. The Queen Hippolyte received them friendly, organized a feast in their honour and after all she asked the leader of the team, Heracles, about the reason that brought them to her land. Heracles was honest when told her the real reason of their visit. Hippolyte agreed to give them this girdle. But at this moment Hera again interfered into the subject and took the appearance of one of Amazons. She shouted that Heracles lied and the real reason of their coming was to bring Hippolyte by force to the foreign country. Amazons fully armed raced to the ships. Heracles saw that he was attacked, decided that he has been deceived and began fight. He killed Hippolyte and took his girdle.
