This time the Lord asked Heracles to clean the Stables, belonging to Augeas, king of Elis, which have not been cleaned for 30 years. Heracles came to the king Augeas, but did not tell him that he was sent by the Lord. The hero offered to clean stables within a single day with the only condition that the king gives him one tenth of his flocks. Nobody could do it within a day! The king Augeas thought it over and agreed. Heracles needed a shovel for work and he was given it. Despite all doubts of the King Heracles managed this task as well as the other ones. He was not going to bring the muck out. He just dug a wide and deep ditch and let waters of two neighboring rivers in it. Water washed off and brought away from the farm-yard the muck and dirt within a day. The king Augeas paid to Heracles as promised though he thought that Heracles did not deserved it. On his way back home Heracles was ambushed. The King Augeas knew that Heracles was not armed so he organized this ambush to return his flocks. But Heracles's friend came in time to help. Enemy were taken aback and killed. Heracles founded Olympic Games, dedicated to Zeus Olympic.
